B-Staff training has begun, and the next batch of sailors are learning the ropes! I’m Emma Kate, Social Media Mate, writing from Marina Cay.

Yesterday, staff arrived in Tortola from all around the world. We ate hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner before attending our first boat meeting at 8 pm. After receiving the schedule for the morning and playing a few games, we set our alarms and fell asleep!

On Thursday morning the yellow sunrise woke us up and we had a breakfast of bagels, bananas, cereal, and yogurt. We talked through the plans for the day and had our first lesson on de-docking the sailboats.

After a lunch of burgers and hot dogs, we began our sail to Marina Cay. We learned how to raise the sails, moor the boat, and work as a part of an effective team aboard!

At the mooring ball, we took a quick swim, followed by an ocean shower. We then finished the evening with quesadillas for dinner and our first boat meeting at sea.

Staff raise the Sail Caribbean flag after mooring the boat in Marina Cay (hence the lack of life jackets).

After the busy day, we’re ready to get some rest. We can’t wait for tomorrow!
