Earlies Fleet! Day 11
Written by Hilary Chessler., Mate on Graytful
Today we woke up in the beautiful little harbor of Jost Van Dyke. This morning was extra exciting because we started the day with a mate swap! I had the pleasure of sailing with Dilkara Dreamer, where we ate bagels, cereal, yogurt, and fruit for breakfast.
After breakfast, we completed our pre-departure checks, dropped the mooring ball, and set sail for the gorgeous Little Harbor on Peter Island. Our skipper for the day did an amazing job driving the boat, tacking, and leading sail raises.
Meanwhile on snow cat, Samantha took the helm!!
Once we arrived at Little Harbor, all the divers were picked up by the dive boat for two fun dives. Today’s dives consisted of a super cool shipwreck, a stingray, and lots of cool fish, which we had fun identifying when everyone returned to Grateful.
Meanwhile, all the non-divers had time to enjoy water sports, snorkel, and swim around in the crystal-clear water, where we also spotted some turtles. Once the divers returned, we all headed back to Grateful for a delicious dinner of chicken Alfredo made by Henry and Megan before our night adaptation lesson and night snorkel.
The snorkel was definitely a highlight of the day, where we saw lots of tarpon and a squid. After the snorkel, everyone returned to their boats for a quick boat meeting and a relaxing evening to get ready for another fun day ahead!
