MEGA 2 Day 11

We woke up this morning at Mountain Point off of Virgin Gorda at 8am, though a few of us got up a bit earlier to snorkel around the reef and explore the beach near our boat. We had never been to this cove before, and it was absolutely breathtaking.

Charlotte and Jack whipped up delicious banana pancakes for breakfast, and Franny got dropped off on Betty’s Dream before we de-anchored and set sail for the Bitter End—woo hoo! We had a great sail with Etai as our skipper of the day. Olivia and Jack did an awesome job unfurling the jib as we made our way toward the Bitter End Yacht Club.

We had an easy mooring thanks to our awesome crew. Once we were settled, I made some grilled cheese while Olivia handled the chicken nuggets. After lunch, we had some free play time where everyone got to swim around and visit friends on other boats.

A big group of students headed over to Staff Boat for a squid dissection, led by Bronte, Mer, and Ellen! All the Sierra students were there, along with anyone else who wanted to join. They got to learn all about squid anatomy and check out the different parts up close.

As the afternoon wound down, Georgina and Millie cooked up some yummy chicken for dinner. The kids are now off on a night snorkel while boat clean wraps up. Then we’ll gather for our boat meeting and power down after another full and fun day on the water.
