Merry Christmas in July and welcome back to Blueberry!
Today was one of my favorite days. We started the morning with a much-appreciated 8 a.m. sleep-in and woke up in the mooring field of the Bitter End Yacht Club. The mooring field had plenty of boats around since today is a major holiday in the BVI.

We kicked things off with a breakfast buffet—eggs, toast, cereal, and fresh fruit—which fueled us for the exciting day ahead. Then we shuttled to shore for a few hours at the Bitter End Yacht Club. Shore time here is always a highlight for students with shops, cafés, and water activities to explore. Many got matchas or smoothies as a treat and I saw some very impressive second breakfasts being ordered. Students picked up new hats, bracelets, and cute tops and the Hobie Cats were especially popular. It was amazing watching them put their sailing skills to use on their own.

By noon we headed back to Blueberry where Brynne and Alexa served up grilled cheese sandwiches and crispy bacon. With a playlist of pop hits and island tunes setting the vibe everyone was smiling and energized.
The afternoon was full of watersports, tubing, more Hobie Cat sailing, and a muddy adventure to the ponds for Sierra students. Those who wanted a slower pace swam around or soaked up the sun on deck. The weather couldn’t have been better: warm, sunny, and breezy all day.

For dinner, Silas and Noah cooked a delicious meal of grilled chicken with onions and zucchini paired with pasta. We all ate together on deck just as the sun dipped below the horizon and lit the sky with stunning shades of orange and pink.

To wrap up the evening, we played Christmas tunes in celebration of the holiday, held our boat meeting, and then spent some time chatting before powering down for the night.
