MEGA 2 Day 14

We kicked off the day bright and early with a 7:00 a.m. wake up, followed immediately by PDCs. By 7:30, we had dropped the mooring ball and set sail from Anegada. As we cruised away, we enjoyed a breakfast buffet underway, and the crew raised sails smoothly. Ava, Etai, Molly, and I had eggs, while others like Millie and Olivia had some cereal. We had Topher filling in as captain today along with Franny on our sail to take photos.

By midmorning, we picked up a mooring ball at Marina Cay. Lunch was a highlight—delicious quesadillas made by our amazing chefs Ava and Ryan, who continue to impress us all.

At noon, the divers were shuttled over to the dive boat. The rest of us headed to Blueberry at 1:00 for a coral reef lesson before snorkeling at Diamond Reef. This lesson was taught by our marine bio coordinator Bronte. It was a fantastic snorkel! We spotted a massive hermit crab scuttling along the sea floor, stunning coral formations, and plenty of Bronte’s favorites, Sergeant Major fish, everywhere.

Later, we regrouped back on board as the divers returned from their afternoon underwater adventure. Dinner was a hearty serving of Alfredo pasta with chicken.

After dark, the divers geared up again for an exciting night dive. They had a blast and came back raving about the marine life they saw, including a very cool shark, a moray eel, sea cucumbers, huge crabs, and lobsters.

While the divers were exploring the deep, the rest of the crew headed to land for a fun soda social. Once everyone was back on board, we wrapped up the day with our evening boat meeting and power down.

Another full and unforgettable day aboard Betty’s Dream.
