Lima Crew Update

Yesterday started at Cooper Island, where the crew wrapped up their practical sailing work and hit the water for an afternoon of watersports. Congrats to our newest Open Water diver, one more certification in the books. From there, Lima set a sunset sail for Key Bay, Peter Island, mooring near the Willy T. The crew dinghied ashore for an evening hike, swam along the way, and discovered a hidden lake none of them expected to find. On the helm for the sail were our diver turned helmsman and Matteo, both steering with confidence. The evening wrapped with a soda social on shore and plates of chicken alfredo, well earned after a full day on the water.

Huge congrats are in order too. Sam, Jud, and Min Min earned their RYA Powerboat certifications, another milestone for the Lima crew.

Meanwhile on Mega 2, the morning began at Trellis Bay with yogurt parfaits before the crew gathered for a captains nav briefing ahead of the three hour sail to Bitter End. A boat swap was announced, giving students the chance to socialise with a new crew and step into unfamiliar roles for the day. After Caesar salad and rounds of Pictionary and Imposter, the crew raised the sails together, and everyone rose to their assigned roles for the passage.

Once anchored at Bitter End, it was straight into the water for games on the lilypad, while students who wanted to watersport got out on skis, wakeboards, and tubes.

Dinner prep followed with sizzling burgers and veggie burgers alongside cowboy caviar, and the evening closed out with Marine Science Coordinator Bronte leading a Bio Lum lesson.
