This morning, we woke up surrounded by the beautiful waters of Diamond Cay. Charlotte and Liv made us a yummy breakfast, and then we got ready for a day of diving, snorkeling, and hiking. We did a boat swap, so all the non-divers came to Nohea while the divers split up among the other boats.

We non divers motored to Sandy Cay while the other boats sailed to Marina Cay. After anchoring at Sandy Cay, we dinghied to shore for our hike and snorkel. On the beach, we ran into the Alpha Fleet, who were in the middle of their Olympics. We stopped to spectate for a bit before continuing our adventure. Our marine biology mate, Bronte, guided us down to the little tide pools to see what we could find. It was so therapeutic to hear the water crash at our feet as we learned about the ecosystem around us. Then we started a snorkel! Eliza was finding tons of sand dollars, and Bronte helped us identify plenty of the fish below us.

After enjoying the crystal clear water and white sand beach, we returned to Nohea and set sail for Marina Cay to meet up with the rest of the fleet. This was a fun sail because it was just our boat! All the other boats had already headed there to pick up the divers. We had pita pockets for lunch while underway, then picked up our mooring ball once we arrived.

After we moored, the divers returned and we all had fun playing and swimming in the water before starting showers. Dinner was delicious baked pasties made by Sophia and Noah. After dinner, we did our nightly boat clean and had a boat meeting led by our skipper of the day, Ryan.

Nohea was in the mood for something sweet, so we baked some cookies before heading to bed after a long and fun filled day of sailing and diving.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
