Foxtrot day 2

The Foxtrot gang got off to an early start this morning to prepare to leave docks and set sail for the very first time.  After some breakfast and morning showers, the crews of Mazurka and Samba went through their “Prior to First” lesson in which they learn about the parts and systems of the boat.  

After a quick pool break, it was time to de-dock.  Alexis was on the helm on Samba and Olivia was skipper for Mazurka and both boats had beautiful de-dockings before heading out through the channel for Dead Man’s Bay, Peter Island. 

After learning how to raise the main and unfurl the jib, the boats anchored at Peter and the students were eager to jump in the Caribbean Sea! 

After a swim test and some snorkeling, the Foxtrot students sat down for their introductory turtle lesson, to prepare for the turtle tagging and data collection they would be doing during the program.  The students then wound down for the afternoon with some showers and hanging out on the boat before a delicious burrito dinner. 

Everyone got to bed early on their first night on the water after a full day of sun and sea.
