Alpha Day 8

Trip Update from Sao Jorge:

“Today we motored from Monkey Point to Long Bay.  Upon arrival we headed to shore to hang out with the kids from venture and do watersports.  We played a bunch of beach games and also went tubing and sailing on the Picos.  Afterwards, the open water students went diving for their final dives for the course.  Matt, Avery, Sara, Paige T., Paige G., Izzy, and Brooke as well as the other students on Venture got their certifications! The fun divers, Elsie, Jake and Kyle, explored the two dive sites while the Discover Scuba Divers, Daphne and Alec, got their first introduction to the underwater world.  We also had a couple of non-divers who were able to come along on the dive boat , follow our bubbles and snorkel the sites, so we were all together! We came back after diving to an amazingly clean boat and Meg baked  us a cake.  Everyone took ocean showers then went to shore for a beach BBQ.  The councilors cooked us hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers and briefed us for challenge day tomorrow. ”
