This morning, we woke up at the Pirate’s Bight on Norman Island. Our divers went off for an early morning dive while the rest of us set sail towards Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola. As we motored out of the harbor, we realized that there was a squall rolling through the channel. The wind and the waves were powerful but we used what we’ve learned the past few days (and had help from our Captain and Mate, Richard and Sarah) and safely and proudly made it to the channel at Nanny Cay without any issues.

Now we had another challenge, to dock a 50′ catamaran! We met the challenge and our crew successfully docked our 50′ boat which seemed much bigger now next to all of the monohulls around us. Once we were on docks, we had a cleaning inspection by Polli, our Program Director, and had one of the cleanest boats on program! Once we were all back together and finished enjoying our lunch, we had some time to explore the marina. We hung out at the beach, did some shopping and ended the afternoon at the marina’s pool.

We all went back to our boats at 5:00p.m. to get our phones handed back to us for a bit to call our parents and loved ones and tell them how much fun we’ve been having over the past week. After phone time, and after admiring the beautiful cotton candy sunset we were blessed with for the evening, we started dinner and got to enjoy a lovely full fresh water shower for the first time since we left Hodges!

We ended our dinner with delicious brownies and all singing happy birthday celebrating Andrew who turned 13 today! After dinner, we walked across the marina to Mulligan’s for a movie night. Some of us played mini golf and on the playground but most of us were consumed with the giant outside projector playing the movie ‘Get Smart’. While all of the Alpha kids were exhausted and headed back to their boats around nine, the tough Tangos were the last boat there, sticking it out until the end of the movie at 9:45p.m. to make sure Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway lived happily ever after. We headed back to our boats and all fell asleep in our hammocks excited for tomorrow’s adventures.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
