Good morning everyone! Welcome to the Alpha & Tango 3 Trip Updates 🙂
Yesterday, Day 1, was the big arrivals day! Staff spent the morning making last preparations before the students began filtering in. Cabins were cleaned, kitchens were wiped, and everything was organized so that the program could start smoothly!
Throughout the day, students arrived from all over to Hodges Creek Marina. Some were picked up by staff at the St. Thomas airport, some landed at Beef Island, and others were dropped off directly at the marina.
By evening, they were tired from traveling and ready to eat a delicious hot meal. Dinner was a hearty mix of steamed vegetables, beans & rice, chicken with alfredo sauce, and cheesy scalloped potatoes. The students ate and mingled with their boats and the other boats in the fleet on the dock. Smiles and laughter were all to be seen and heard!
After dinner, the first boat meetings were held at 8:30. Boat meetings happen nightly and cover things like boat levels and issues, medical issues, and general check-ins. Games were played and lively conversations continued until it was time to power down and head to bed at 9:30!
Overall, the program started strong and everyone is excited for the days ahead! See y’all tomorrow!
