Lates Fleet! Day 3 – Cooper Island
Written By Chloe L., Mate On For Obvious Reasons
Our first full day waking up on the water started with a fantastic breakfast buffet to fuel up for a massive day of adventure. Before setting sail, we jumped straight into “Prior to Firsts”—our detailed, top-to-bottom boat tour. Everyone got completely comfortable with our floating home and learned the ins and outs of the vessel. Right after, the campers met our amazing dive staff and got all of their snorkel gear perfectly fitted and ready for action. We prepped and ate a quick lunch right on the dock, topped off our fresh water tanks, and then reached a huge milestone: our very first de-docking!
The crew immediately jumped into action, learning the ropes of how to raise and lower the sails. We enjoyed a gorgeous, smooth sail across calm waters, setting a course for Great Harbour on Peter Island. Once the sails were lowered, the campers nailed their first “mooring ball pickup” lesson and successfully secured the boat.
I delivered a mini-lesson on local jellyfish, which was followed by our swim tests and some fun crew photos on deck.
The afternoon wrapped up with everyone mastering the art of the refreshing ocean shower before the crew teamed up to prep and cook a massive feast of DIY taco bowls for dinner.
After working together to complete our very first official boat deep-clean, we gathered on deck for an energetic and fun evening boat meeting. As we speak, everyone is tucked into their sleeping spots, falling asleep right on deck under a blanket of Caribbean stars, ready for another exciting day exploring the BVI tomorrow!
