Lates Fleet! Day 5 – Benures Bay

This morning we got a nice sleep in till 7:30 am and went straight into a breakfast of yogurt parfaits, cereal, and bagels. We finished up our morning with a quick breakfast clean before shuttling to shore at pirates bight at normal island. Our sierra foxtrot students got a turtle lesson from Mikayla and Chloe before we went out for a turtling session. Sail Caribbean works with the association of reef keepers to collect turtle data and tag turtles for their research project. All other students went on a hike to the helipad where they played categories with all the boats. We then hiked back down to the beach for some shore time with some beach volleyball, spike ball, and soccer.
At 11 we went back to boats for lunch prep and to get our scuba divers ready for their afternoon of diving. We had a yummy lunch of chicken Caesar wraps before our open water, advanced open water, and fun divers were picked up by the dive boat. Our other campers had fun and friends time on boats to snorkel, swim, water sport, and hangout before we left for Benures bay on normal island.
We then did a boat swap so people got to make new friends on our short mother to benures. Once moored, divers got picked up and everyone got shuttled back to boats for showers, dinner prep, and chili cookoff prep. Tonight’s chili cookoff will include lots of beans, some sour cream, skits, and a whole lot of laughs. We will end our evening with lights out at 9:30 to get plenty of sleep for our fun day heading to moorings tomorrow!!!
