Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Foxtrot, Sierra 1: Day 19 – Long Bay

Race day! We woke up this morning eager for our Megafleet race from Great Harbor to Long Bay. On Sonsbeek we ate pancakes to fuel up for the long day ahead. The race started at 9:25 am and all the boats had sails raised and were ready to go for the countdown. Tack after tack we were looking all over trying to figure out if we were winning (we were not). Campers and counselors in the helm seat had a Grease, High-school musical, and Pirates of the Caribbean jam sesh. 

Everyone arrived at long bay around twelve, anchored, and ate lunch while waiting to go ashore. Prior to the start of the Olympics, Delta made their appearance on Mega for the first time. After shuttles ashore all the students ran around with their flags and high spirit for the competition ahead. The Olympic Games included Dizzy fender relay race, Sand Art, Tug of War, and Synchronized Swimming. 

In freetime afterwards the students did some ASA Exams, sailed our Hobie Cats, and tubed/wakeboarded in the Bay. After the Olympics and freetime the fleet came together for a Barbecue dinner on the beach. By sundown everyone was tired and ready to go back to boats. Before bed students wrote their letters to self and had an early bedtime to prepare for their next day at the Baths.
