Isabel O’Naghten

Mate In Training

Isabel O’Naghten is from Miami, Florida, where she learned to swim before she was five. She is currently a student at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, studying anthropology with a focus on shipwreck archaeology. That means she gets to learn about Florida’s early history and then actually go look for it underwater.

Isabel is a Divemaster with 190+ dives, and she still gets excited every time she puts on her gear. She’s been sailing for three summers in the Southern Caribbean and the BVIs (two summers with Sail Caribbean), which has given her some of her favorite memories and a healthy respect for the weather. In high school, Isabel worked as a lifeguard at the 100-year-old, natural spring-fed Venetian Pool in Coral Gables.

When she’s not sailing, diving, or studying, Isabel is probably out line dancing with friends or taking photos. Nothing too serious, just capturing moments she doesn’t want to forget. Isabel is energetic, adventurous, and happiest when she is near the water or planning her next adventure. She is currently collecting countries, sunsets, dive sites, and friends, and can’t wait to meet everyone!
