This morning our staff woke up bright and early to get ready for the Alpha/Tango 3 arrivals! We cleaned the boats, provisioned all of the food, and tied up any loose ends before our campers arrived.
Around noon, our first group of campers pulled in, and we all rushed to the pavilion to welcome them. Holding the Sail Caribbean flag high in the air, we jumped for joy as they arrived in the taxi trucks! After helping everyone with their bags, we escorted them to the boats they will be calling home for the next two weeks. As we walked down the docks, campers began getting to know their new boatmates that they will be sharing this incredible adventure with.
Once everyone was settled, they were given a tour of The Moorings and had some time to explore the shops and café before freshening up with a well-earned shower. They then enjoyed a delicious barbecue buffet for dinner, featuring jerk chicken, burgers, salad, and corn on the cob.
After dinner, each boat gathered for its first boat meeting. Campers had the chance to get to know their captain and crew a little better, learn about life onboard, and go over the general expectations and routines for the next two weeks.
With a full day of travel behind them, we called it an early night so everyone could get some much-needed rest before the adventure truly begins tomorrow. We are so excited to finally have our Alphangos here, we’ve been counting down the days for this moment! We can’t wait to see the friendships, memories, and adventures that this session has in store. Until tomorrow!
