Today we woke up in the gorgeous Great Harbor and ate a breakfast of yogurt parfaits made by Charlie and Carter in preparation for a fun day of sailing, water sports, diving, and celebrating Bella’s birthday!

After breakfast, we taught a lesson on the different points of sail and completed our pre-departure check to get ready to drop the ball. Our crew and skipper, Oliver, did a great job dropping the ball and fully raising our mainsail in only seven minutes. During our sail, we practiced tacking and enjoyed the views on our way to Cooper Island.

Once we arrived at Cooper Island, the divers had an opportunity to go water sporting. Mackenna and I took Catherine-Rose, Bennett, Charlie, and Oliver out tubing, and everyone had a ton of fun riding the tube and blasting music in the RIB. After tubing, we returned for a delicious lunch of chicken nuggets and Caesar salad prepared by Kristian and Lauren.

After lunch, our divers went ashore for their dives while all of the non-divers gathered on Caroleena for a coral and jellyfish lesson. Meanwhile, some ASA students went out on the Colgate. The open water divers completed their swim test and learned how to set up their gear, while the AOW and fun divers went on a skill dive at the Ginger Steps and saw a bunch of sharks.

After the marine biology lesson, the non-divers went snorkeling, then tubing, and hung out on the boat. When the divers returned, we all showered while Chloe and Claire began dinner prep. Dinner was Italian sausage and pasta, and it was so good.

After dinner, we did boat clean and had our evening meeting, where we celebrated Bella’s birthday with a delicious ice cream cake and played some fun games before heading to bed to rest up for another fun day.
