Beep, beep, beep went our alarm at 5:30 a.m. this morning. We had a big day ahead of us, so it was crucial to get going right away. The Sweet Caroline crew stepped up to the plate and got their things together in a swift manner. Then it was time to set sail! Right as we took off, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky, and we took it as a sign that it was going to be a great day.
Our first destination was The Baths (aka the moment every camper had been waiting for). Once we arrived, the campers put on their snorkel gear and jumped into the water to swim ashore. After spotting loads of friendly jellyfish in the ocean, we got a marine biology lesson from Emilia on rock formations.
Then we began the maze-like walk through the caves. The campers enjoyed climbing over the rocks and wading through the hidden crystal-blue pools. Each boat took photos in the center of The Baths- one smiley photo and one silly photo, of course.
Afterwards, we headed back to the boats and set sail once again for Great Harbor so the campers could have one last chance to enjoy water sports. For our final destination, we arrived at Moorings to wrap up the day. The campers packed up their belongings and cleaned the boats for inspections. They were also given phone time to call home.
Dinner was a tasty treat- jerk chicken on the barbecue with Greek salad and corn on the cob. That evening, it was time for our end-of-program skits and slideshow. We headed to the tents and watched each boat perform. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone had a great laugh. After an unforgettable final night together, everyone made sure to get a good night’s sleep before their big travel day ahead.
