MEGA 2 Day 7

Hi! I’m Izzy, captain of Y Nissi. We woke up at 7 AM for breakfast made by Juliette and Malea. After that, we set off from Nanny Cay to Jost Van Dyke, heading to Sydney’s. While the divers went diving, the non-divers hopped on a fun truck tour around Tortola. They got an amazing tour of the island of Tortola, going up and down the mountainous roads and their guide did such a good job of showing them art, views, and identifying all the islands around us.

After that, we did a boat swap, mixing up students from my own crew with diving students from Blueberry and Stella Maris. Together, we sailed from Nanny to Jost Van Dyke. Everyone was involved! We had a helmsman, two monkeys, a sail spotter, and a wind spotter. We tacked and jibed for a few hours and then lowered sails as we approached Little Harbor, Jost Van Dyke.

Once we caught the mooring ball, the students either went watersporting, turtle catching, or swimming around and doing tricks off boats. The turtlers got a great lesson from Bronte before driving and snorkeling around the bay and spotting some green friends. When they got back, everyone got changed and ready for the much anticipated Sydney’s dance party. We had dinner onshore, danced to the music, and even picked up some cool merch.

We returned to boats by 8:30 PM, did boat meeting and boat clean, and powered down at 9:30 PM, ready for some well-earned rest.
