Arrivals Day!
There’s no day quite like it, the one that kicks off every adventure: arrivals day. We started early, 6:30am sharp, with a staff meeting to unpack the feedback from Mega 1 and sharpen every detail so this next crew gets an even better programme.
Our first arrivals touched down at 10:30 and were met with flags waving and the whole team cheering them in. While the group came together, they soaked up time by the pool and in the cafe, then took a tour of the moorings to get their bearings.
Half the staff headed off to provision each boat, stocking everything the crews will need for the next three weeks. The other half made their way to the airport to welcome our first campers.
Once everyone had arrived, they met their captain and crew, settled onto their boats, and got the rundown on boat rules and what life aboard a sailboat is really like. A few crews wasted no time getting to know each other over games and cards.
Then it was time for the BBQ, served up by Tommo, Azra and Mitch: jerk chicken straight off the grill, burgers and veggie burgers, and corn on the cob.
After dinner, each crew wound down with a boat meeting and a game to break the ice even further. Three weeks of adventure start tomorrow morning. Goodnight from the moorings.
