We kicked off the day in the stunning Great Harbour — an early 6:30am wake-up that was absolutely worth it for one reason: pancakes. While the rest of the crew fuelled up, our divers geared up for an exciting milestone, heading to Cooper Island to begin their Advanced Open Water certification.
At 8:45 we set sail for Trellis Bay, making a quick but valuable stop to practise picking up a mooring ball — a skill that’s starting to feel second nature. Lunch was a crowd-pleaser: chicken nuggets with pita, hummus, and fresh vegetables, served up aboard Graytful under Grant’s expertise.
Next came a programme first, our maiden dock! The whole crew rose to the occasion, everyone knowing their role and executing it with confidence. A smooth landing all round.
Once tied up at Scrub Island, it was all hands on deck for a full boat clean. The faster we finished, the sooner shore time could begin, and that was all the motivation anyone needed.
Campers made the most of it: browsing shops and markets, picking up souvenirs, grabbing snacks, cooling off at the pool, and bouncing on the famous Scrub sea trampoline.
Dinner was taco bowls, and as the sun went down the real magic began.
Emily and Azra led the group through a night adaptations lesson before we headed out to see what the darkness revealed: squid, baby sharks, tarpon, and lobsters all made an appearance. The perfect end to a packed day on the water.
