Bravo 1 & Charlie 1 2018 Adventures Day 2 – Smooth & Successful De-Docking!

This morning, our fleet awoke early to prepare for our busy day! Starting with a delicious breakfast, we all ran through a prior-to-first sail lesson, learning all about our vessels, both above and below decks. The crews then took turns visiting the Sail Caribbean Divers’ dive shop in order to have our divers get acquainted with their instructors and for those who wanted to squeeze in some fun finds and purchases, too.

Then we had our first de-docking lesson! Both yachts had an extremely smooth de-docking, with our student skipper’s of the day manning the helm. The vessels were then off on their way from our docks at Hodges Creek across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Cooper Island Beach Club for the afternoon.

Underway, everyone learned how to raise sails and about mooring ball pickups! This was crucial as we needed this knowledge to safely pick up and secure ourselves to a mooring ball for the evening. Once on the ball, all students either started their first dive lessons, had their first dive, or hung out on shore after a snorkel! Smiles were rampant after all these activities, everyone headed back to boats to do showers and eat a yummy dinner of burritos! With a fun boat meeting to end the night, day 2 was overall a big success.
