Earlies Fleet! Day 1

We couldn’t have been more excited to kick off our first program today with the Earlies Fleet arriving! After nearly two weeks of intensive, hands-on, fun-filled training, our staff woke up well prepared and eager to meet their campers.
Fleet Captain, Topher coordinated with marina staff at our new home base, The Moorings, to ensure all boats were organized and prepped for the first arrivals. We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Moorings this summer, the first charter company in the BVI, who’ve been around for over 50 years.
Captains and Mates spent the early hours getting their new homes ready for their crew, labeling, decorating, and filling each boat with all Sail Caribbean must haves. Around 2pm, we recieved an enormous provisions order to stock all 5 student boats for the program. All hands were on deck to help unload, sort, and allocate provisions to boats, ensuring all allergies & dietary restrictions will be well accomodated!
Campers slowly trickled into The Moorings in the early afternoon, all greeted by our team eager to welcome them aboard. After long days of travel, 5pm most boats were filling up, with arrivals from all over the country!
Once students got a chance to meet their crew mates and settle into their cabins, appetites were working up! Staff prepared an enormous buffet style barbecue dinner with burgers, jerk chicken, salad, corn on the cob, and an assortment of homemade s’mores for dessert. Groups came up boat by boat, and took their dinner back to eat as a crew in the cockpits on board, where they played some ice breakers & games.
We ended the night with lots of well deserved showers, and boat meetings to go over goals, expectations, ground rules, and excitements of the summer ahead! We can’t wait to see this fleet in action!!!
