After a fun Fourth of July celebration at Blunder, the campers got some good “Zzz’s” and made pancakes to fuel up for Anegada. We sailed through calm waters, moored, and headed to shore.

Campers hopped in the back of several trucks for an adventurous ride through a sandstorm to Loblolly beach. We browsed through a gift shop, ordered some food, and then gathered around for a marine bio lesson led by Margo, Beth, Morgan, and Val on climate change and coral bleaching! It was an awesome opportunity to learn more about our surrounding environment and how we can help it.

Campers then ran to get a dip into ocean to cool off before heading off to their next spot, (SAND BAR WALKOUT), where they found baby sharks in the nursery and saw a manta ray in the distance.

Campers then returned back to boats to eagerly prepare for the famous Chili cook-off, where boat themes included Miami party, Pineapple Paradise, and sleepover. The judges had to go to each boat to test the wonderful chili and the theme that the boat performed.

Well fed from the chili and decompressing after the competition, campers ate some cookies at boat meeting and then fell asleep under a clear night sky.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
