Hello Sail Caribbean! August 2nd was a chill day, we woke up bright and early to a beautiful sunrise at Jost Van Dyke. For breakfast, we had a breakfast buffet, and I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese.

Then we all went ashore for a hike to the bubbly pools! It was very refreshing after the hot hike. After we got back to the boats, we had some time to kill, so we took a dip in the clear, cool water. After we did our PDCs and dropped the ball, we then had a beautiful sail to Cane Bay. For lunch, we had ham and cheese sandwiches.

We had some shore time, and most of us had virgin strawberry daiquiris and hung out at the beach. Foxtrot and Sierra kids gathered on Stargazer for a marine biology lesson on water quality. They used test strips to analyze the different levels of things in the ocean water and a refractometer to measure the salinity. When we came back from shore, it was time for dinner (time flies when your having fun)! Dinner prep got started on fried rice, while the rest of us played a heated game of Uno. After dinner, we all had boat clean, then boat meeting, and soon after, we started setting up to sleep under the stars!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
