We stayed our day at Bitter End with a quick mate swap–Jus Chillin got blessed with Katie Ps presence and Daisy graced Sweet Caroline. And off to Anegada we went!!! The sail, notoriously choppy and wavy, was just that. Despite this, Jus Chillin hit a top speed of 11 knots at the hands of Hunter as the skipper.
Arriving safely at Anegada, the Sail Caribbean fleet had some fun and the sun before heading to shore. Shore time at Anegada is always unique–just like the island itself!
Did you know that Anegada is very different from all the other islands we visit in the BVI? Where most islands here were formed by volcanos, Anegada is a former coral reef that reduced to limestone and was exposed by ancient sea level changes. It is extremely unique and we sure take advantage of that.
Shore time at Anegada means piling into trucks and driving to the other side of the flat island to Loblolly Bay! There we all have a beach clean up and learn about marine debris. We then have ice cream, food, or go shopping. After this, we go to the shark sanctuary where we get to wade out and see baby lemon sharks in the sandbar!!
After that is a typical day on board at Sail Caribbean– ocean showers to dinner prep, dinner to dinner clean, boat meeting to power down. However, Jus Chillin was surprised post boat meeting by a play date!! All of Sweet Caroline showed up to hang out before bed.
Everyone is getting a good sleep in preparation of challenge day!!! Another great day at Sail Caribbean:)
